    Re: Paypal

If its just a normal account, they used to lock it after you had done around 1500 quids worth of transfers until you validated it.

    Re: Paypal

If they lock it due to disputes then you can end up waiting about 6 - 8 months for them to unlock it. You can spend months chasing up disputes and faxing them your passport and various other things they require like supplier information for parts etc. Paypal are utterly and truely evil. (second are ebay fees). I'm tempted to never sell anything on ebay ever again simply to avoid ebay fees and the associated mess of selling through ebay / paypal. Everything seems to be aimed at protecting the buyer in preference to the seller.

it's also possible that they've spotted him as a potential trader, and want him to register with Inland Rev/Customs. They're under orders to do so appraently, as are ebay.

Sell too much stuff and you are forced to register as a business in some cases.

    Re: Paypal

Paypal have sent me debt collection letters demanding £555, my account is clean and up to date though. It looks like its a debt from someone else with the same name but for some reason they thinks its me! Its a big pain.

Paypal would have gone bust without ebay, they are an awful company run by idiots. Kidding the public into thinking they are secure is just wrong!

    Re: Paypal

Ugh paypal, bunch of monkies. The posts about it being suspected as being a trader account are probably correct. I personally had loads of trouble with them a while back when they manufactured a dispute from nowhere.

Even after the supposed victim contacted them and told them he had not raised any dispute they wouldn't drop it, completely emptied my bank account and sent debt collectors after me. Took all kinds of threats from my solicitor to get them to even speak to us directly and not via their online system which just spat out copy and pasted responses, half the time I don't even think they were read by paypal. Wasn't until a court date was actually set that they agreed to drop the dispute and return the money(almost 6 months after they took it). My credit rating is still tanked now, took me a year just to get a maestro card
