after the problems with with scan and the Q6600 motherboard stock issue, I placed an order from specialtech.co.uk for the board, a Q6600 and a fan. All in stock. They used a courier which was unreliable, a phone call later and I'd arranged my own collection. Life is good.
Item arrived today. 1 box containing on Asus P5K motherboard only, no cpu or fan. Its obvious they where never going to be sent as the box was only just big enough to hold the motherboard. No invoice, no note explaining why they where not sent.
Amazing that this is how retailers can work these days.
The even more ironic thing was that about 2 hours after I'd place the order, Carlh from scan took the time and effort to mail me to say the items where back in stock, but by then the order and courier had been arranged.
So now I'm sat here with a board and no cpu.
Fantastic service from another etailer.

I have always had good service from Scan. I suppose the ONLY way to be sure is to go and get stuff in person, or *dreads thought* from PC World!

) and consumers would find that hard to grasp. Imagine being told you've paid £400 for a crap PC and then being told by a member of staff that to play Crysis you'll need to spend it again on a new card

. If it does then please explain and feel free to abuse me! Maybe I should have used a pokey out tongue thingamajig although I highly suspect I may have been indulging in the dangers of beer and the internet at the time.
