I've only ever heard a couple of Kanye West songs, but he surely must be better than the utter tedious crap that 50 Cent puts out. TBH the only mainstream rap/hip-hop song I've liked for about the last 10 years was "The Real Slim Shady" and even then mainly because it's funny, rather than because it's great in musical terms. I daresay that decent hip-hop is still being made, but it's tricky for an old git like me to find. It's simpler, I find, to stick to Three Feet High And Rising, peppered with a bit of 80s/90s NWA, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill.
