    Global Warming

Apparently all of the data that pointed to 1998 being the warmest since records began is a croc created by the Y2K bug...

Warmest actually turned out to be 1934 with 5 out of the 10 warmest years ever occoring before WW2..

    http://www.norcalblogs.com/watts/200...ttest_yea.html

Soooo, all this money were now paying to reduce our carbon footprint.....
Maybe its a way or preying on green thinking people and taxing us while making us think were doing a good thing..

While I'm not denying the human race is having an impact on the environment I've never belived that its as big as were all being told it is. This planets been here for millions of years doing its own thing, we come around and keep records for, erm how long is it now, and suddenly the Earths going to explode or something...

    Re: Global Warming

Probably the most compelling argument for taking action on global warming...

    Re: Global Warming

well iv never really brought the idea that we as humans are the driving cause of the global climate change that is/is not occurring but have always agreed, to an extent, that we need to take action on how we use resources and energy and such as I feel that were extremely wasteful. So I guess that I agree with that video, which I thought was pretty good in that we should be taking action in what we do, but we have no influence in the climate and what its up to.

I have also had many drunk arguments over this with my mate who has recently become a 'save the planet by stopping everything we do sort of thing but I will still fly to Malaysia and have a massive house' guy and believes that using cars are killing babe seals. I hate him.

    Re: Global Warming

I love global warming and the bull**** it produces. We are so guilt ridden in the west that we'll buy into things like bio-diesel in order to feel green. How do you get bio-diesel? Well you add palm oil to diesel. Where does palm oil come from? Malaysia and Indonesia. What is Indonesia now doing? Well they are trying to increase their palm oil exports by 40%. How are they doing this? By cutting down large swathes of virgin rainforest, burning it and planting oil palm trees and killing off the Orungutans in Borneo in the process.

Feel green now do ya punk? Well do ya?

    Re: Global Warming

I don't feel green , in fact I'm feeling rather pink today, but in a manly way of course.

I really hate all the crap that random companies are now advertising about being 'carbon neutral'. It's just the latest and greatest buzz word to get peoples attention so they can sell their crap. If you look at what most of these companies are doing is in fact paying someone in Outer Mongolia or somewhere to plant trees that offset the random figure of carbon output that they come up with. And what does that mean, creating space to plant these trees, then growing the trees which will eventually be cut down and therefore releasing all the carbon dioxide that they sucked up while growing and hence not offsetting the carbon, just pushing it back a few decades and creating a bigger problem down the line, but that doesn't matter because they get to sell one more thing now.
