Finding out my own home telephone number

Basically i cancelled with BT then rejoined a few months later. It seems they have changed my number as ofcom have said my old one is ceased. Thing is I have no telephone to check by calling us, and BT 150 is a complete joke, its unreal how they can keep you on hold for 1 hour 20 mins then say we cant tell you, let me put you through. So is there somewhere i can jsut put my post code in or address and check it that way online?

    Thanks all

Re: Finding out my own home telephone number

I'd say call your mobile from the landline and get it when it comes up there, but you say you have no telephone?

What's the line for? Do you have an old analogue modem at all?

    ADSL or Dial-Up?

If you have a dial-up modem and Hyperterminal (you may have to install this from your Windows CD) then you can tell your modem to dial your mobile with the command:
    Code:
    ATD 01234567891
(replace the number with your mobile number)

in Hyperterminal once you have got it connected.

Re: Finding out my own home telephone number

You could email them but they probably wont give out the number untill they verify you are the account holder as you could just be anybody trying to get the telephone number of an address.

You said the line is for the internet only. If it is for ADSL how did you order ADSL without the telephone number?

How did you call 150 if you dont have a phone?
