    Buying in South of France

I am considering (very seriously) buying a place in the South of France. I know the place well, but I really have no idea about prices. My company has a branch in Sophia Antipolis, near Cannes & Antibes so it would be easy to slide sideways into another role when I get tired of globetrotting if I were near there, but it's not essential.

I like the Var and Vaucluse areas too. I am looking at spending about 600K Euros and would like something of a decent size, with enough ground for a pool if there isn't one. I don't like, or need, cities. Anything I need I am willing to drive for 30 minutes to buy. My priorities are the size and price. I can rebuild a place myself if necessary.

Does anyone know about prices, good people to talk to, websites, areas, (Have a really nice 300m2 villa on 2,000m2 of land for sale for 500K Euro in Valbonne) etc.?

    (Thanks Evilmunky)

    She went Wednesday.

OP - whilst spending 600k Euros does indeed mean you have a large penis, I'm sure you can 'google it' and get the information you need in a few seconds.

Re: Buying in South of France

The problem is the sheer mass of information. I googled "Property South of France" and got a godzillion hits. Each site seems to be the size of Europe, with probably 20 appropriately priced properties, 1 of which looks OK.

I don't have much time to go there this year, but I want to buy by Christmas. If I ask for a week off I will get away with it, but if I ask for more the boss will decide that I have too little to do here and send me to Amsterdam. Not that I hate Amsterdam, but my family is here.

So I have to optimise the process as far as possible.

Stewart, I do have a large penis. It was a stunt double in 'Anaconda'.

Re: Buying in South of France

My mum lives just north of perpignan, near to Narbonne which is on the Med coast. Her partner is a very experienced builder and they both have done a lot of shopping around in that area for properties. I'm sure she would know of places for sale in your price bracket. She would probably be willing to lend a hand for a small commission, if that area is suitable for you? I remember her mentionning that the area is very popular at the moment for foreign buyers. Lots of nice villas with pools, etc.

Drop me a PM if you're interested.

Isnt the south all sun and stars?
I would think it'd cost more than something in a vineyard(thats all my expansive knowledge on the subject can say).
