If PZEV models exist in the states, why can't we have them? They seem incredibly clean and i'd happily pay extra for one.

Damn politics. Is so frustarting how governments can be so obnoxious and make up such stupid laws. They make it illegal to sell out-of-state, yes why not ban a car that produces less toxins than frying a burger. And U.S.A., the gas crazy polluting maniacs they are, you would think they would welcome the idea.
Sorry went off topic there, just makes me flippin mad

yeah it is ridiculous
the other thing tha annoys me is if this PZEV can be done, why is it not simply the NORM nowadays? It should simply be made the standard, just as seatbelts were introduced, airbags etc, PZEV should just be the way things are done from now on until we replace the internal combustion engine
because it's dearer to make so either has to be sold at a higher price or accept less profit at the same price.
of course if they were allowed to sell them in other states then volumes of scale would meant that the cost differential would fall ...
Saab have been saying for a couple of years now that the air coming out of their exhausts in towns was cleaner than that going into the engine.
Where's Zak, he'll know ...
There's still no reason why Honda couldn't sell the PZEV cars in other places. It still sounds as though someone has their head up their bum.

Eagles may soar, but weasels never get sucked into jet intakes.
I wonder what the UK price difference would be between the PZEV model and the equivalent UK model. Everyone knows that the more units you can sell then manufacturing costs come down.

They still pump out as much CO2 as any other car so they are evil turned into automobile form
Never mind the fact they are near zero emmissions on the really dangerous stuff.

yeah i'm going to read more on it

i thought this would get more interest
It doesn't do anything for CO2 emmissions, which are the main concern over here.
oh...
i watched a documentary once that explained how CO2 wasnt the biggest problem by a longshot, but i'm still waiting till theres more proof
if you can't think of something intelligent to post , then please don't bother....
from the little ive read, it seems these cars are not really any better than current cars over here.
If the engine starts leaking oil in one of these (oil control ring or similar), they will still get the blue smoke that mine does
it seems more that the pzev just has 15year 150k mile guarantee on emissions control parts (cat converter etc..) so they (in a political spin type way) stay clean for longer - rather than a new pzev being a lot cleaner than any other new car.
I cant find any details on the new technology used, and i find it unlikely that any amazing new technology is being used on these.

They did lots of comparisons with burgers and mowing lawns etc, but they missed out the only real important one: How they compare to same model car just without the PZEV installed.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.
If this counts as 'PZEV', then it's not a standard worth worrying about...
