It's just TOO hot in my office and I'm sure there are some people far worse off.... what a nightmare :(
Is there a legal limit for working temperatures? Productivity must be down by loads in this heat. We are all campaigning for air con!!

No air-conditioning in a giant warehouse, that was absorbing the heat like a greenhouse.
It's almost like we have no rights nowadays!!:(
Yep am sweating my nadgers off here. Good side is we have a huge (20ft high) walk in fridge for keeping reactive chemicals cold. Bad side is having to wear full face gas mask when dealing with them. Is a tad nasty when you start breathing your own sweat.
Yours hot a stickly
Flibb
Heh, yeah it IS too hot particulaly if you are in offices that have a lot of computers. Maximnum legal tempreature transportation for animails is 98 degrees I think, dont know if there is one for people.
if you need an Air Conditioning company I know one :)
i think 90 is when its legally too hot.
Ive had 86 in my office, could easily reach 90 if i closed the windows ;)
Butuz
Really? it was at least 93 at work today, well thats Tescos for you..only want to make it comfortable for the customer.Quote:

At 1pm .. my nice air conditioned office ceased to have power :(
It's back on now but it's nearly 33c here in Cambs. I really feel for you guys without air-con. In the 2 and a bit hours we had no power, it got hot really quickly :(
I have to go on London Underground tomorrow.... mmmm, that'll be nice! NOT!!! Couldn't do that everyday in the winter, let alone in this heat.

Someone has just been out and bought us all ice-lollies!!! I'll stop complaining now :)
Not bad here, got 2 fans on in the office and the air circulation system is pretty cool :)
I dont know the legal upper temp limit, but the legal lower limit is 13-14C, we got sent home from school middle winter once cause it was below that in our classrooms as the boiler was buggered.
LOL @ Sair :p ice lollys... yeesh. Ur spoilt ;)
iirc there is no legal upper limit for temprature in a working enviroment... there is a lower limit (cant remember what it is off the top of my head) at which they have to provide heaters/clothes etc...
He he... I know!!! Did the job though... for a while! Bright pink it was! I'll be hyperactive for the rest of the day now :DQuote:

(Watch out Zak!!!!)
Kaillum's right there is NO legal limit for how hot it can get.
There is a world health organisation advisary of 25°C but there is no legal limit.
Just have to stick with it i'm afraid. But its lovely anyway, don't know why you need to complain about this lovely weather. At least your not outside doing manual labour in this. Then you really would be hot :P
TiG
I don't like the hot weather, sun and me don't go very well together. I venture out around 9pm when its cooler :)
The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 state thatThat is generally taken to mean between 16C (61F) and 24-25C (75F). If your work involves physical labour, then that lower temperatire may be 13C. There used to be a minimum (16C IIRC) that was actually defined but that legislation has now been superceded. You are also entitled to sufficient ventilationQuote:
During working hours, the temperature in all workplaces inside buildings shall be reasonable.
.Quote:
6.—(1) Effective and suitable provision shall be made to ensure that every enclosed workplace is ventilated by a sufficient quantity of fresh or purified air.
Jeez, my kitchen used to be 120 F every night and around 90F in the day.... no wonder I got thru so much Lynx.

Thanks kaillum and tig for the info :)
I wish there was though as it feels inhuman having to work in those conditions, And yeah manual labour would probably kill me
:p
*Glances at the thermo, its reading 30 :(
*sighs

Pay is ok. Its web design and other web work for a modeling agency. So It is possibly the best job on the planet. Plus they are gonna pass my name on to loads of other people. Im already lined up to do a fashion designers site and a night clubs site. Most of my work will be in this area of clubs and models.
The only downside is it is sooooo easy to get side tracked. Oh well. its a small price to pay.
/Sits back in comfy chair and eats ice cream.
/sighs
/smiles
Sweet :cool:Quote:

How's your book going m8?
My assumptions have changed some what but Ive got some good notes and stuff. I wont have to completly rewrite it or ne thing. Its goin alrighty but Im way to busy to work on it :(.
Yeah i think its a good sign when your assumptions change as it shows that you are a person who grows and does not stand still, i feel that life is full of lessons where you can decide to learn from them or not and you are learning all the time :)Quote:

What i do think is that whatever you write it will please you while you are writing it but later some of it you will not be as happy with, but thats what revisions of the books are for, and also follow ups.. just keep writing when you can and write too much then filter it down to a smaller bundle for printing.
Yeah thats cool. Thanks. I do Right what ever comes into my head when I have time and filter it down. You end up with a more solid out come. Oh well. I just gotta keep at it.
Thanks for taking an interest Raven :)
Thats o.k. i like to hear that someone is using there creative juices, im not at the moment sadly. (To busy studying for PC masters degree)Quote:

I had a book i was writing i put it on hold over 2 years ago, and never went back..
When i get my new career started i'll have the weekends to work on it :)
This is a Discussion on Temp at work....so unfortunately gentlemen I shall have to beat you both with EGH WHISKS for deviating from the allotted path ;)
Seriously though.....what makes me laugh and then feel feintly sick is what Deckard said, and also what Sair suffers from....
ITS FOOD PREP AREAS that suffer from the highest temp problems..
Now HOW can that be good for anyone. Deckards kitchens were like furnaces....its the same eveyewhere you go...and this is FOOD prep and we all know that food needs to stay cool for health reasons until the last possbile minute.
And Sair works with food prep too...and that area of her work is the hottest in the building.....so go figure.
It makes me shudder, and I avoid Indian and Chinese restaurants and take-aways in the hot summer....
cos you just don't wanna know what its like in THEIR storage areas :( YEUCH :(
