Well, that's just made my day. No more tedious juggling in iTunes.

But the nano looks like a step backwards in design tbh.
EDIT: New touchscreen Ipod donations please.

But the touchscreen is so small! Why only 8gb?!?

There's a 16Gb version as well, which makes it almost usable for music. If they had a real document delivery system on it so you could read PDFs on the way to work it would be a threat to my 4-year-old Palm T3.
[Edit]8Gb iPhone now $399 -Hahahahaha
Apple must be pretty sure of their fanboi base to screw the early adopters like that, but given all the hype that happened over June/July, they obviously know their market.
I bet $399=£499 when it's released over here.

I want CoverFlow on my iPod =(
30Gb is peanuts, unless you only listen to the Top 40. I'd love for other PMP makers to get their act together and realise that if I'm out on a walk and suddenly decide I want to listen to that Violent Femmes album I haven't played in ages I don't want to be disappointed because I couldn't cram in into the tiny amount of storage they give.
605 comes in a variety of flavours. 30GB, 80GB, 160GB and 4GB flash with an SDHC expansion slot
EDIT: see the spec page: http://www.archos.com/products/gen_5...global&lang=en
Ok, fair enough, I missed the variations on the Archos. It comes down to whether the 160Gb iPod will come in under £300.
is this a windup charleski?

Mmm, if I didn't already have an iPod I'd go nuts over the 160gig classic. Not sure why they seem to have ditched the white one in favour of silver (unless it's just that they've shown it in silver on the site so that it stands out on the white page), though I personally prefer the black ones.
The only issues I have with my iPod aside from the odd crash are the scroll wheel sensitivity and the narrow file support.
IMO the new Creative Zen looks better than the new nano and seems to have better functionality as well, I'd opt for that if I were going for a smaller player.
