No kidding......this is REALLY NOT FUNNY at all, so if someone can go and just turn down the thermostat in the sky please.
Anyone else on the verge of passing out ;) ?

yup, i am :(
have spent the past 3 days drinking copious amounts of beer and sleeping very little :/
am currently in the process of bodging 2 pairs of old jeans into one pair of baggy 3 qaurters in an attempt to cool down
/me passes Zak a beer, that should sort you out.
I don't tend to melt, i'm quite cool at the moment, sitting in an 18°C chilled server room :D
TiG
Very hot where i'm sitting, with the windows open and the fan on full.
I was doin a spot of work with the hammer today, I stopped for a break, had a cupper and went back to finish off the Job, picked up the hammer by the metal end (like a muppet) and my hand nearly melted away, ouch :(
oh well, a couple of Jars should bring a smile back to my face. :D
its actually clouded over here in not so sunny Blackpool.. mind you, all the fans in the office are still turned on, and its not to bad.. :)
Its mental here......our mechanics are in overalls, and the roof is an old style corrugated job with panes of glass every other panel.....no insulation ....
its over 35'c in that workshop.....not funny at all :(
It was quite cool in the office i was in today. The bike ride was not funny this morning though. Really burned me up on the way to work!!
I went for a bike ride just now. It's quite nice, considering.
This heat is really quite dangerous- I had these 2 120mm mains powered metal papst fand on my desk. I turned round, caut them and knocked them off my desk, and instictively tried to catch them. Middle finger of my left hand has two nice cuts in it, at the first knuckle, so excuse my typing. It wasnt that deep, and it stopped bleeding pretty soon, but i still went alll dizzy and threw up...
Ahh, the joys of summer :P
This desk fan is blowing hot air at me
How good are those £180 air conditioning units from B%Q?
i think gods got the weather wired up wrong, hes got us confused with somone else
PANTS.......the prob with Aircon is this.....you need AIR INTO THE SYSTEM to do the cooling, and HOT AIR blown out of it....now the hot air out is OK, they give you a big pipe ducting thing to point out of the window.....but getting enough air INTO it is hard....Quote:

specially as the unit blows such a low volume of cooled air, but requires so much air to work, that you have to have all the windows open just for it to work :(
In essence.....you have to SIT IN FRONT OF IT for the few cubic feet of cold air is creates, while is blows out thousands of litres of hot air down the pipe and sucks in just as much just to work....
Cruel Situation :(
This weather is murdering me. I grew up in shetland, and in '91 is reached the sizzling heat of 23.6C, Shetland's official record. After that I lived in Grimsby, not so cool but still up north and on the east coast.
Oxford's blooming killing me.

well I used the handy thermometer in my phone to record the temperature in my "office" (the van) it was 31C with the windows down today...
And on a completely random note, how much of a bane are comfy leather chairs in this weather.... you have to wear clothes, or risk leaving the skin of your buttocks behind when you go to the fridge for a cool.... :(
Ahh the good old head in the fridge trick, saved me today :)
Sometimes i look forward to when my next visit in knoxeh's freezer will begin ;)
would someone plz patch the ozone layer up with some arctic silver :o
Aye, Oxford was damned hot. Took a day trip back down there to go for some careers advice, and I've never been so glad to have aircon in the car. Twas heaven. Fortunately it was relatively mild when I got back home (nearish Preston), a cool 25C. Still I've got to get up at 6am to help finish flagging the patio, then it's off to Venice for a week's holiday on Friday - it's a good five degrees hotter out there!
Check this out... It's 1:00am and my 'geek' room temp is 31C! I've a big rendering job to complete and 5 of my rigs are crunching on it...
It's only 27C in here atm...It'll rapidly increase though. And my PC temps are awful. I'm even turning it off when I go out and turn off this desk fan cos I'm scared it'll blow up or something!
Today, so far, it's been ok... There's actually some wind here today, so all I've to do is keep the windows wide open and I should be ok... I hope... ;)
Yeah, its nice and cool here as well, but im just about to go out to work! :(
So, im gonna be sitting on a bus sweating my arse of because the old codgers are cold!
Actually today isn't nearly as bad as yesterday thank god. It was 32C in this room yesterday, today it's only 27C.
Well, there was no wind what-so-ever yesterday and my room temp was at 37C at one point... Today's highest was only 34C which was ok...
they are ace but dont buy one cos then it will go cold- murphys law i think :DQuote:
