Great news today...
After getting off most of my drugs, my GP said I am OK to drive again, and DVLA have just formally cleared me too, so watch out world, I'm getting behind the wheel again :)

Congratualtions :)
well done mate! Know it's got to mean a lot to you.
Well, I know where I'm not going this weekend... :surprised:
(only joking, congrats!)
Yay! congrats!
Does that mean we don't have to come to telford on a meet?!
(i.e we can go further afield!)
Nice one :)
:mexican:w00t!:mexican:
My doc still says no to driving :(
Excellent news dude. well done. :)
Comiserations Kezzer :(
Thats great news, I'd be gutted if I was told I couldn't drive anymore, I love my car :)
Nice one!:clapping:
Congrats :)
Brilliant news! congrats :D
Thanks all, and sorry to hear that you still can't Kezzer :(
Yes, it does mean I *might* be able to go to a Hexus meet a bit further away, but I'll be taking it steady for a while, no long trips and nowt on my own until I feel fully confident again. I don't see it being a problem, after doing 60k miles a year from 1983 to 2001, but I gotta be careful to start with :)
A friend of mine is looking to start learning to drive again. He passed his "test" in California back in 2001 and only drove an automatic there for about 6 months before coming home and not driving again.
He drovepart of the way from Aberdeen to Edinburgh last weekend and it all came back, even though he's only has a few lessons over the years in a manual.
Good luck :)
I went for a little drive this evening :)
YAYYYYYYYYY !!
Score :)
Give me 6 months and I might be driving, sending away for my provisional soon (finally got money for it, only 13 months later than planned!) - so I should be sorted quite soon for lessons et al.
G8ina, that is fantastic news :)
And no Rai, we are not skipping the Telford meet, it's handy for me as well :p
Cheers,
Stephen
I drive *MY* Modeo...... My missus has had to do all the work since May 13 2001, and she says its really weird being a passenger again. She was a damn sight more nervous than I was :)
Congrats.
Only just started driving again myself after 2 months off after a knee op.
I went for my first drive since passing my test tonight :D I had my insurance documents through today and discovered I can drive other Cars under my policy :D so guess who nobbled the keys to Jon's Car and went for a drive :D didn't go far, went to the next village about 2 mile away, and then round the Gleddrid roundabout up the A5 Bypass and back to ickle old Gobowen :D :D :D His Car is a 1.8 Renault Laguna and it felt great! always wondered how i'd feel about driving his Car because it's bigger than any Learner Car i've driven, but it was brilliant! can't wait to drive again!
Although I only passed 6 ish months ago, I must say I still get a thrill out of driving, and strangely find it quite relaxing and enjoy it!
Now just gotta wait the other 6 months for my insurance to come down (it'l still be stupid prices albeit lower!)
I still get a thrill from driving and i've been doing it for the past 7 or 8 years :)
I do as well, and strangley I get as much thrill from the OneTen as I do the merc.
