    YAY !!!! My doc and DVLA say yes to me driving again

    Great news today...

    After getting off most of my drugs, my GP said I am OK to drive again, and DVLA have just formally cleared me too, so watch out world, I'm getting behind the wheel again

    Yes, it does mean I *might* be able to go to a Hexus meet a bit further away, but I'll be taking it steady for a while, no long trips and nowt on my own until I feel fully confident again. I don't see it being a problem, after doing 60k miles a year from 1983 to 2001, but I gotta be careful to start with

    A friend of mine is looking to start learning to drive again. He passed his "test" in California back in 2001 and only drove an automatic there for about 6 months before coming home and not driving again.

    He drovepart of the way from Aberdeen to Edinburgh last weekend and it all came back, even though he's only has a few lessons over the years in a manual.
