Oh, missed this thread. Still loving mine, got a few pieces of free software, games, calculators etc and a very handy remote control application for the TV/DVD/amp etc that works from about 8ft away. The SMS/MMS application needs folders and filters but that's about my only real quirk and hopefully it'll be implemented in a firmware update.
This new one seems to be much more responsive on the screen than my old one - either that or my old one was properly mashed
Where is the cheapest place to get one ?, i need a new phone soon !

If you call Customer Services they usually say three months if you can't get the online thingy to work - it took until the next bill for mine to change, but it's changed now, inside the three months. There's nothing on my contract to say they'll charge me for changing and the online account management specifically states it's free of charge to change tariff.
E+OE etc, if they've changed it don't break my legs. Ask the monkey in the store about changing UP tariffs first, talk about you may need the 1000 minutes possibly, then casually ask about changing down. He/She should say three months, then make sure you get it down in writing to make sure there's no way they can refuse you changing down after three months max.

They wont have a problem with you changing down tariffs after 3 months, but they may charge you if you change before that. This is because this is when the retailers get their commision from the network so most independant retailers have a clause, to cover themselves, saying they will charge you if you change tariffs in this period. Although I am not sure about buying from o2 direct, but I am sure the blokey in the shop will be on commision, so they may also have a similar clause. I have also read on another forum that the Link don't have such a clause, but it hasn't been confirmed.

If you say it worked for you, thats good enough for me to have a try. If the worst comes to the worst, it wont be that much anyway once you factor the phones value into it

edit - cant see any info on the p900 or the tarif im after on the o2 website. Does the P900 they supply have all the "branding" rubbish supplied on some phones - and can you flash it online with SE's online phone flasher ?

It is branded, but not too bad a branding. The phone's exterior is unblemished and I actually prefer the o2 startup/shutdown and sounds... I think it's only the startup/shutdown that you can't change without hacking. You can't flash online as of yet but a SE service centre will be able to flash it to vanilla SE firmware if you go in and ask them/complain of bugs
The tariff is O2 400 which may be under business tariffs. The offer isn't available online, just in O2 retail stores, and it's worth ringing up to check on stock and seeing if they can reserve one for you. It's probably £45/month, getting confused with our £46/month 400 x-net tariff!
As for the clawback as it's called, I work in the business and made damned sure there was nothing in the contract about clawback and that the online account management stated to change tariff was FOC before doing it. If they attempt to charge me clawback I'll take them to the cleaners. Given it's o2 retail and not Phones4Muppets they won't try to pull anything fast.
Went into a O2 store - they said they had non in stock, and it was "last months offer", and is now "only" £280 on any tarrif
Any ideas ?
Are going to try other stores soon and see if i can blag the same deal.
