    Re: Beef...

Well, I've bought it and tried it.

It's quite tasty, but also slightly like eating a shoe. I'll probably buy it again.

    I'll vote now.

    Re: Beef...

Beef jerky is also a really handy snack if you're a bloke on a low fat diet. It makes a good alternative to a packet of crisps to go along with a lunch time sandwich.

    Re: Beef...

I'm not sure I've ever had jerky, but I've had biltong, and liked it a lot. I might have to try making some of my own. I also fancy having a go at making Pastrami since Brisket is so cheap.....not sure how I'd smoke it tho:/.

    Wink Re: Beef...

I quite like those Tofu Jerky you can buy from Chinese super market . You can get lots of different flavour as well such as beef, seafood, 5 spice etc . They are all for vegetarian as well mmmhhh :drool

That sounds interesting too. Not generally a fan of Tofu, but some of it is ok.

Although "8. Hang the meat, close the lid, switch on the bulb and wait 5 days. " leaves a lot to the imagination.

There is a brief description of the box in the tips section, but it isn't exactly clear. I think more hunting is in order

Used to eat alot of it when I was in the army, esp. on marches. Good source of protein (thogh not as much as dried worms).
