Damn it! Don't you just hate it when your tea goes cold?

    Start early morning rant...

So you make yourself a cup of tea, put it on your desk and forget all about it. By the time you remember it's there, it's ice cold. Wwwwaaaahhhhh, why do I always do that?

Time to get a desktop wallpaper that says in big letters "Don't forget your cuppa!". Right, I'm off to go put the kettle on, again.

    /rant.

Re: Damn it! Don't you just hate it when your tea goes cold?

I've always wondered about the thermal interface between the cup and the USB warmer.

Most cups have a rim around the bottom, meaning they don't make very good contact with the warming plate. How would this effect the devices ability to keep your beverage warm?

Should you adopt a flat bottomed cup for use with these devices? Or are they designed to take the lip into account?

Obviously you could fill the void between cup and heater with thermal goop, but that is going to get very messy. Any other ideas on how to improve the efficiency of these?

Re: Damn it! Don't you just hate it when your tea goes cold?

At least you get to the point where the tea is made.....I'm always getting the tea ready (bag & sugar in cup), turning on the kettle, then coming back 30 mins later to find a cold kettle (or someone else having nicked all the water).

Or even worse, pouring the water into the cup, leaving it to stew for a couple of minutes then coming back much much later to find tea on a stick. Which I have been known to consume when feeling overly tired. Cold nuclear tea. Yummy.

Cold tea is bad, I dont like to drink it when its hot so theres a pretty small window for my tea drinking hence why I dont really drink that much of it tbh...

I know this sounds bad - and I almost hate myself for doing this, but have you tried microwaving that cold/lukewarm tea?

It actually does the job rather well, was something I did when I was a student and had a cheap kettle which took minutes to boil a cupful of water. 30 seconds on high and you have a hot, steaming cup of tea again

I always reheat my tea or coffee in the microwave if it gets cold, which it doesn't very often, since I tend to guzzle it all down. I have never noticed any difference in the flavour.
