    Student friendly/charity rallies....ideas please

There are a few I would be interested in doing, and more than likely after other rallies if interested

There are a few I would be interested in:
    Mongol rally
    Student gumball
    Scally Rally

And probably any others where you can only really enter a cheap banger

I fancy doing something and will only want to get one of my housemates involved (due to the fact he is the only other one with a drivers licence that drives) and would no doubt probably get a few others involved at a later date but more after a cheap one than the proper Gumball purely due to cost

Any ideas welcome (certain members would be accepted for team mates...maybe)

Reason is last couple of years I have done a few things for charities on a reasonable scale (sponsored abseils....uni stuff etc) and would like to really go all out as I should have some money end of this term

streetsafari.com do a number of rallies where the car has to cost £100 or less. I did home2rome but wouldn't recommend it for driving as it was mostly 3 days of motorways (out of 4). The other ones are meant to be much more fun though.

I fancy a drive it till it's gone kind of thing...my housemate seems interested, might check it more tomorrow after we deal with the huge amount of uni work to get in for tomorrow

Fancy a banger one really and getting something fun like a bit of a holiday out of it...might look into the american ones too

Mongol rally is out for this year, all the places have been awarded. I have a couple of friends that got accepted.

There is another rally going to Mongolia and I think they're still accepting places. Its run by some ex-Mongol Rally guys who didn't like all the profit being made off charity events. Turns out some of the rallies you mention are not as charitable as they would like you to believe!

I'm doing the Pyramid Rally at Easter. Can't do anything else next summer as I've got a 3 month trip around south america, but my gf is having second thoughts... and I need to stop spending all my cash on gadgets.
