There are a few changes. One was mains Electricity arrived in the area, a few of the houses were wire up and that night houses were compared to see who had the brightest lights.

It's remarkable to think she was born into a house with no mains utilities (water/gas/electricity) at all - She is happy with most advancements, although she dislikes the television for stifling conversion in the home.

Re: Happy birthday to my gran, the centenarian

81 years is the average life span for a Woman in the UK at the moment, so she's 5 years over. Doing well.

Does she put her long life down to porridge? They always say porridge.

I suppose when our generation gets old, we'll put our long life down to Juicy Fruit, and having it large.
