I've heard numerous horror stories now with LOVEFiLM, who else would you suggest to use?
I noticed an increase in turn around times after Lovefilm merged with Screenselect, but things have got a little better. Still not as good as when it was just Screenselect though.
The thing is most DVD rental firms, like Tesco for example, are actually re-branded Lovefilm. So you might as well just go with Lovefilm and cut out the middleman.
The only rental firm i know of thats not Lovefilm is Amazon, and i have heard even more bad reports about Amazon's DVD rental.
i've just ditched lovefilm, they stopped sending me things in my top 1-10

Yeah I've noticed that. The packaging they provide all goes back to the same address. Employees at work keep putting their DVDs in the postbox and I noticed thatThe thing is most DVD rental firms, like Tesco for example, are actually re-branded Lovefilm.
Looks like we're all in the same boat!
Hole found in the market? Niche opportunity?
Lovefilm used to be good before they merged with Screenselect, ive always found Screenselect to be rubbish.
Amazon is ok, but often the discs are in a real state and we have had quite a few unplayable ones. We only really use it for tv series anyways.
Not around too often!
I'm with tesco which since switching to lovefilm has become slower. I only go for tv series and old films but even so the closer to the top of my list something is the slower it is to be sent out.
Bumped to save thread disappearing into the depths of general discussion. I've been hunting and asking around, dunno how you guys have been getting on (hopefully you'll get a reminder email earlier tomorrow morning to check back at this thread!).
I've asked people I know, who use lovefilm. The complain about the service but don't do anything about it.
Bah.
am using easycinema, which recently was bought out by Lovefilm. am quite happy with it, but time isn't an issue, since is only service that charges per film, rather than per month
right now have V for Vendetta. Can keep it as long as I like. Down side is that someone waiting for it is thereby compromised, but obviously they have more than one copy, and am not paying for the time.
1.99 a movie.
Just started renting DVDs from Amazon. 1 DVD was unwatchable but I was posted a replacement very quickly. Seems to be OK so far, but I've only been with them for 2 months
I have heard that a lot about Blockbuster. I personally have come to the conclusion that Lovefilm are the best of a bad bunch.
There is a rental shop not far from me that does the similar thing with the added bonus of no waiting time needed. I am sure there will be some thing similar not far from you as well.
