This has been puzzling me for a while now - what does the VIP stand for in song names??
eg Masochist VIP - Pendulum

i'd assume it just means Very Important Person, same as every other VIP i've ever heard
though it doesn't really make sense in that context
it stands for "verifyably inverted penis" and its a serious condition so it shouldnt be questioned

Maybe it's like a pre-production/release version of a tune, made available to VIPs (in the known sense of the acronym), and VIP is stuck onto the name to distinguish it from the original release?
Or maybe someone's conducting a marketing experiment.
According to google a guy by the name of noisia produced some remixes for pendulum. Another site gives the impression its the names given to unoffocial remixes pendulum did themselves.
They are essentially a marketing tool. Sometimes known as "dubplates" they are often, either unreleased recordings (which may or may not end up being made available to the general public) or exclusive versions/remixes of existing recordings. They tend to be given out to leading figures in the scene, basically to give professional DJ's a competitive advantage over "home-DJ's".

It's labelled like that when the original artist re-mixes their own track basically.
That's the general info I've got from a few music websites (Drum and Bass Arena forums ) and such like![]()
