"Ladies and Gentlemen, take my advice: Pull down your pants and slide on the ice"
Well that has distabalised an already unstable country even further. Very sad.
Not around too often!
She was pretty defiant, that's for sure. I didn't realise she had done so much, i.e. been to Oxford University, Cambridge too. I bet that's going to hit Pakistan hard.
Absolute tragedy. The last of the Bhutto dynasty; an appalling loss.
It will be interesting to see what happens in pakistan now. She had a lot of supporters there so could cause some serious repurcussions
Nothing will happen. The country will go on as it does and with any luck they will find a young leader who has a direction to take the country assuming President loosens his grips ever so slightly.
Fact is she is one of the most hated people in that country. She was sent in by the US and the people of the country knew this. She didn't deserve to die as she did which is sad, but she isn't first public figure to get assasinated. Kennedy anyone?
This is true. Although she had some support her return was negotiated by the US, her agenda in part was to allow US troops to operate on the pakistani side of the border with afghanistan.
This way Musharraf gets to cancel the january election, retain command of the army, appease (funda)mentalists by keeping foreign troops off his soil, continue to receive $bns in 'anti-terror aid' and maintain martial law. So a bad day for (comparative) moderates, and a good day for dictatorships and theocrats. Oh, and all this within a nuclear power....great....
