Trying to find dates and a ticket line, but he NEC website is next to useless. I've been told there is some sort of motor show on the 12th and 13th January, is this right?

I always thought it was later on in the year than january...
this one??
Autosport International Incorporating Pistonheads - The NEC, Birmingham
That's what I thought, but my family is convinced there's something on this month. By the way, saw you in the latest Hexus meet photos, mind if I say "not bad"?
refresh the thread...i've found the show.
and Thanks
Not just a geek, a pretty face too. (and full of myself also!)
I thought there's be another big show at ExCeL in London this year, after the success of the July (or was it August?) 2006 one? I enjoyed it, though my wife didn't.
<goes and picks up last months Practical Performance Car from the floor, and reads the ad on the back cover>
Yeah, Jan 10-13 is the Autosport International show at the NEC. 10-11 Jan are apparently trade only days.
Welcome to Autosport International
^ are you being rude (agent)
Autosport show should be good although I can't make it this year. I work for the company thats putting it on and recently been sitting next to a chap at work thats been getting all the cool cars together for the pistonheads super car paddock.

I love you Rave (although you are not as fit as tiggerai, sorry). My ticket is booked! Unfortunately I have to go for the 9:30 track event, which means negotiating rush hour traffic, but I will get quality photos of cars I can't afford
sees TVRs in Nick F's post and falls over![]()
I hate the show. Mainly as last time I was there I'd been out to a charity gig the night before, woke up still very drunk an hour later for a mate to pick me up (it's a long way down to Birmingham) only for him to have slept in. I had to call him twice to get him on his way. Not a great reason for hating it, but still.
A more valid one is that it's the same stuff every single year. A teeny selection of some shinyish new cars. A stand in a different place to the previous year. The same racers from the 50's (which is the best bit). And some 2001 BAR dressed up in the 2007 earth livery (probably flown in by a B52 wasting 75,000 gallons of aviation fuel). I go for the crack with some mates I don't get to see very often, but the event itself is just... poor.
Might be going this year, but it depends on my dad's health. Mini-Hexus meetup?
Autosport is a bit of a let down these days, since it's become too popular for its own good.
It used to be a great place to pick up parts, chat to manufacturers and talk to people on the front end of automotive design. With the stand price obviously going through the roof, apart from the big names people have smaller stands which means less stock on the stand and higher prices.
The Live action arena bit is now unfortunately part of the main ticket, which means if you're not interested in that part you still have to pay for it too.
It's £28 this year, and whilst I appreciate there are 2 'shows' it's still a lot of wonger for what it is. I'll be scouting the web to find a 2 for 1 offer like I managed last year. Incidentally, the best bit I enjoyed about last year was Subaru offering an afternoon's test driving of their cars on a circuit for a £50 donation to the RB Foundation!
