    Best Delivery Service / Provider

Which would you say is the best delivery service.

Mines UPS, because i remember when i ordered some comp bits and they came while i was sleeping, so i was woken up by a rastaman shouting through the letterbox going "Yo yo yo WWWWake UUUPPP" so i came running downstairs with just some long shorts on and it was raining heavy is well, i thought thats amazing service.

My worst being Parcel Force, Drove 25 miles to their depot, even tho i saw their van drive past my house and then checking the online tracking with it saying "Tried to deliver but no answer, parcel taken back to depot"

Edited: Added a poll with the most well known i could think of

City Link for me. That said, I rarely get deliveries from any others.

Walsh Western (who deal with dell deliveries) were terrible for me.

Re: Best Delivery Service / Provider

I would have to say CityLink for me. The vast majority of deliveries i get are from them. I do get missed deliveries, but because i'm not there and they card me.

For me the worst is UPS, they don't have an office in Aberdeen, closest is in Dundee. They used to sub it out to Pegasus Express, but not any more. Makes getting my Microsoft Action Pack updates a complete pain.

Re: Best Delivery Service / Provider

all depends on the driver. some lie and some go that extra bit. I quite like special delivery because if you look at the list of item that arnt covered with DHL it doesent exactly leave much to send.....

Re: Best Delivery Service / Provider

Well as said it varies on the driver you get, but UPS have consistently been the best for me, with DHL the close second.

Citylink have been consistently the worst, causing me themost problems over my life and losing me the most money (a few thousand £ in damaged or stolen goods that they refuse to take responsibility for). Is a wonder they are still in business..

Re: Best Delivery Service / Provider

Our postwoman once came round the back of the house so as not to damage our newly concreted drive by walking up it, and waited at the backdoor for me to get out of the shower and come downstairs to sign for a delivery. Above and beyond UPS have also been first class for me.

Re: Best Delivery Service / Provider

There's not much difference between any of them really. I've selected Parcel Force/Royal Mail simply because they've got a depot that's a couple of minutes drive away. If I miss a delivery, I can whip 'round and pick it up at my leisure - quite convenient actually.
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

0iD: Plus weeing in it every now & again does it good
scaryjim: 10" is just a little large to hold comfortably in one hand, which makes it a lot harder to tap, swipe and generally interact with.

Re: Best Delivery Service / Provider

Personally, I think a poll doesn't work well here. We probably use some delivery services more of some than others (Scan, OcUK, Ebuyer all use Citylink for instance; and for Ebayers it's often Royal Mail or DHL - via Parcel2Go or something similar), so as long as the service is decent in most areas (and I reckon it is the case for all delivery services), the most commonly used will probably get the most votes.

Anyway, Citylink used to be really bad for me (elite ninja carders) but they've been really decent in the last 3 years or so. DHL were pretty decent but they were a little questionable during the Christmas period. Amtrak, Fed EX, Interlink.. and probably some others I've forgotten about have been flawless each time - which is not many times.

Though judging by Funkstar's comment, I better stay away from seller's using UPS (though come to think of it, I am not even sure who have/don't have a depot in Aberdeen - I only ever had to pick up from Citylink and Royal Mail).

Re: Best Delivery Service / Provider

UPS are the most expensive but their service and driver are so good they are almost robotic.

I think alot of people have commented on just what is local to them (and rightly so) but i have used UPS all over the UK from different points and they have been 100%.

Re: Best Delivery Service / Provider

Parcelforce as best - they tried to deliver to my house while I was at work, so they dropped it off at work same day without having to be asked. Other than that they seem to actually get things to me a lot more reliably.

Citylink as worst - they repeated tried to drop stuff off at my neighbours house (who wasn't in) instead of mine.

Re: Best Delivery Service / Provider

City Link and Royal Mail, but I voted Royal Mail as they deliver on Saturdays at no extra cost and I've had no problems with them either.

City Link ive had problems with delivery puncuality about three times out of about 55 orders spread over 3 - 4 years, but recently I ordered a router and PCI wireless card from Scan, they didn't pick it up from Scan or despatch it on time so its not even Scan's fault, but I had to cancel the order as it was coming up to almost two weeks and I needed my items at some point that week so I bought it from another place...PC World...a much better and more expensive router for 52% less as they price matched for me...

I don't hate City Link at all, they've statistically been VERY good, just Royal Mail haven't failed me AT ALL to this very day after something like 70 orders over 3 - 4 years.
