Kill It, Cook It, Eat It (BBC3)

    Anyone been watching this recently?

Very interesting, yet quite disturbing in some ways.

It's cringe-worthy TV that hooks you so you always peep to see whats going on.

Is this a repeat or is it a new series, i saw the original program, slaughtering animals is never going to be a nice thing. But if it gives people an idea of where their food comes from and what's involved, i think it's a good idea, might give it a watch if i get some work done before hand.

it's the same one, repeated and was a good series.

Hugh Fernley Whittingstall's Chicken Run this week has been good too

Re: Kill It, Cook It, Eat It (BBC3)

Thought it was a new series as last time they were slaughtering adult Pigs/Sheep/Cows, this time they have slaughtered Piglets, Lambs, Kids ( Baby goats ) and calfs. And asking is it ethical to kill baby Animals at such a young age. I really enjoyed it have to say.... I enjoyed the last series also, I noticed it was a different Abbotoir from Mettricks this time, that was because the Mettricks don't slaughter Animals under a certain age so he said on tonights

I think as a meat eater you need to undestand the process of slaughter. The only issue for me was when I watched the calfs, the first one was fine, but the 2nd one could see his mate hanging dead and got a bit panicky, I know that it would be over in seconds for him, but it still upset me, and the Kids seemed to know what was going to happen as when one went down they started crying, but as soon as their throats were cut they were meat to me.

My 14 year old watched the first series with interest, he wants to be a Chef when he's older so it interested him from that point of view, he was amazed at the skill of the slaughtermen, and the cleanliness, he impressed me with how informed he was about the whole thing.

I enjoyed that I have to say i'm a big fan of Hugh Fernley Whittingstall anyway, but this just hit home the conditions of the chickens. I had to laugh though when they were talking about the slaughter process, stun them? how many factories adhere to the procedure?.... my Brother worked in a chicken factory and the chickens were just strung up alive and the knifeman would just go along slitting their throats no luxury of being stunned for them.

I had a letter off Sainsbury today saying about the Media interest in chicken processing that all their chickens adhere to the farm factory guidelines, even the basic chickens Hugh had his chicken run set up to farm factory guidelines too, and look how appalling their conditions were
