    Re: Jimmy.H Tribute Thread

Well, he said he was leaving.

Then he said it again in another thread.

So someone helped him .... before he said it all over the place. And got there before me.

He/She (I couldn't tell which) should have been named "Thread Killer". Still, I think it's been an interesting day for the mods

GCSE? Perhaps more A-Level. Some of his theories were quite advanced. I do find it funny when people come here and get on their high horse because they have the cover of anonymity.

You can get quite far just going through the Wiki. Either way, I'd say an attention seeking teen who has some brain cells, but not as much as he'd want credit for. In retrospect it probably would've been best to treat him every other troll: ignored.

He didn't like us coz we're different to other forums...

Is that not why we're the No 1 tech forums?

I love it here, I'm glad the nutters get weeded out quite quickly.

    Re: Jimmy.H Tribute Thread

I did have the misfortune of reading his first and subsequent posts and thought him rather strange. I've no idea what compels people to post on a forum with such subjects as their opening posts, it's akin to walking into a pub, seeing a bunch of lasses obviously out on a hen night, walking straight upto them and saying (in the best Moss from the IT Crowd voice), "did you know that quarks come in six different flavours?", and expecting to get a civil reply. (*see below for possible replies)

Now if he'd got to know the bride and her maids a bit better, bought a drink, shared a joke or two and joined in a bit of banter and tech talk along with the obligatory twice yearly controversial religious thread then he might have had more hope.

    Re: Jimmy.H Tribute Thread

The topics started were not necessarily problematic by themselves. The problem is that once the subjects managed to lure people into replying, he would take pot shots at them almost to fuel his ego and to encourage uncivilised responses (and further fuel his ego). To be honest, at one stage I was bored, and ended up joining a forum that I did not expect to stay long (found by randomly clicking someone's sig in another forum). Since I did not share the other members 'key interest', I primarily stuck to their 'General Chat', made posts in good faith, and was welcomed accordingly. I also ended up racking up posts counts like crazy (it was a fun little forum).

What's going on with this place? First my statement that 'Jeremy Beadle is dead'* is mysteriously and anonymously excised in the manner it would be if hexus was hosted in the Democratic People's Republic of North Beadle even though rather more irreverent photochops are left in place for all to see.

Then a new member is banned within days of joining for no greater crime than posting endless boring, uninformed, irrelevant comments while insulting any other member that came within 50 feet of him. What's the world coming to? I really would have liked him to have had to chance to expand upon his tory politics. I'm sure that would have been very edifying

*opps there it is again. Oh I don't know, star it out and ban me or something
