    Like Chocolate.....try the 95% pure stuff...

    ....tastes like coffee!! Charcoaled coffee!

    Seriously disgusting. I think it was Lindtt or some other brand....I'd had the 75% stuff from Green & Blacks, and although it was a little bitter I figured the 95% variety was worth a shot.

    Snapped a row of three blocks and popped it in my gob....It just fragmented, covering my mouth in this disgusting ash like bitter tasting powder. Nasty.

    After washing my mouth out with bleach, I read the packet which states that you should try to accustom yourself to the purer varieties of chocolate before getting into the 'hard' stuff. Start off with the 75%, then the 85%, then the 90% before attempting to eat the 95......

    Anyone else tried it? Or for that matter like it?

    the strongest i have tried is 85%, and it was delicious... and choc covered coffee beans are really nice... but they did give me the shakes, lol

    yes, iv had coffee before that has a subtle chocolatey taste without being anything other than coffee beans.

    i cant be bothered looking up how closely they are actually related but it must be very close

    Yeah, but that's just regular dark chocolate....like 45%, over coffee beans. I don't have a problem with the relative sweetness of the chocolate with the bitterness of the beans, but when it's just bitter all the way, that's just not nice....

    Raw coco is not nice. We are all treated to coco + sugar

    Milk choc for me, although sometimes a dark variety is nice, although I can't always take the bitter taste.

    I went to Italy once and brought back 99% Cocoa Lindt chocolate and 95% Alcohol uhh... stuff.

    The chocolate was disgusting, but fun for giving to people who think "70% is yummy so 99% must be even better!"

    The alcohol was for drinks, but had a flammable logo and could take the lining off your throat in seconds! A shot in a pint of beer tasted pretty good actually, with the added bonus (for a student as I was at the time) of making it seem like you'd drunk 4 pints!

    It is also not recommended to throw a capful of the alcohol on your parents' fire to see what might happen....

    It's hardly unsurprising that 95% chocolate has poor taste and texture, cocca itself isn't really all that tasty. The best use for a bar like that would be to make hot chocolate from.

    Back when I worked at Hotel Chocolat, I got to taste test a massive variety of the stuff, and in my experience 80-85% (depending on what else is in the recipie) is the most pure you want to get as without sugar and a little bit of fat to get that smooth, firm texture

    I like the 85% stuff, so I went for some of the 99% Lindt stuff. It was disgusting. I guess you could cook with it, but I wouldn't want to.....

    Give me Cadbury's dairy milk any day. As well as I know, a higher cocoa content means richer, and "better tasting" I can't stand the higher % filled stuff.
