That doesn't sound too bad for a three course meal inc drinks to me.
Does to me, but to be fair I'm a cheapskate and rarely eat out in proper restaurants
Still, it seems the owner is trying to excuse it by saying that line was only meant to be seen by the kitchen staff - surely they shouldn't have put it at all!
Still, I agree that an apology is fair enough, but to ask for compensation is ridiculous.

After putting crap like that on the bill, why should they get away with a simple apology ?
Fair enough the people don't deserve to receive compensation as such, but the restaurant definitely needs a punch where it hurts.

Having worked in a restaurant, I learned that you should NEVER complain about the food - or at least, not until you're leaving, and only if you never intend to go back to the same establishment. Kitchen staff take great delight in 'getting revenge' on customers who complain and think nothing of spitting in food - or worse...much worse...(creme brule a la smegma, anyone...)
Basically, if a restaurant is no good, grin and bear it, but don't go there again, and tell your friends so that they don't go either. If they've really ripped you off, you could always phone up and book a load of tables in different names...
lol... thats not nice greenalien... you could probably get arrested for that too
I didn't see that there were 10 people...
