    Leeds Festival

Anyone planning to go this year (or Reading)?

Apparently tix go on sale between next week and the 20th (20th being when they have over the past few years)

And they have ditched Carling as a sponsor so hopefully some less draconian attitudes to what you can bring into the main area (as in some plastic bottled booze hopefully aswell as food)

Maybe do it as a mini Hexus meet

A couple years ago I'd have agreed, but Download is not much of a metal festival anymore

Haven't even seen the lineup for Reading / Leeds this year, have they released it yet?

    Re: Leeds Festival

Got a ticket for Reading on pre sales at the end of last years festival, all sorted and ready to get mullered! Been going for years now, a bus of about forty of us goes from the valleys every year.

Trying to sort some form of free ticket for download, never been, want to go for my birthday!

I'd be up for some form of meet if enough people are going

I'm off to Reading, didn't care about the not knowing the lineup when I booked, it's usually pretty good and it's worth it for the festival-ness.

Now that is good news! No more £3 pints of fizzy ditchwater, w00t!

Same here, it seems the best way to do it, no hassle or anything! I suspect I'll probably be helping others who didn't listen to me and get them at the time through the March ticket rush again though anyway...

Yeah I'd be up for a meet, we'll have to sort something out in Social.

Have to agree with you there. Last time I wen't was a couple of years ago now. Only went for the friday though as the rest didn't appeal so we saw tool, deftones, coheed and cambria, dredg (which was worth every penny of the ticket ) and a few more I didn't care about lol

I was suprised given that Tool were right there that we didn't get passenger from deftones though tut.

    Re: Leeds Festival

not sure if loosing carling as a sponser is a good thing or not. Surely the festivals will have lost some ££ because of it. Carling have sponsord Leeds for about 10 years so something has gone on somewhere. One of the phone companies will probably take over as the main sponser. I actually thought the beer and cider wasnt to bad at Leeds normally a bit over priced but ok otherwise and lets face most people only drink it to get totally mind bendingly drunk so who cares what it tastes like. I dont have high hope for the festivals this year for some reason tho the gf will no doubt want to go

    Permanently confused

    Re: Leeds Festival

I love living just outside of Reading v little travel time here although the line up in the last few years has been shocking! T in the park looks good with RATM + Biffy Clyro playing.

Live about 6 miles from the Reading site so can bus into Caversham and walk in, saves sitting around in traffic. And being old farts means we never get our bags checked and take our booze into the arena

    Re: Leeds Festival

i only ever went once to reading fest (and i live here), and well, it sucks. you cant appreciate bands in a dirty field outside. and if i want to go and get drunk with my mates i can do it anytime anywhere i like. but anyway it was teh year that the lead singer of dillenger escape plan took a dump on stage into a bag and threw it into the crowd.

as for download this year... pffff :/ only one band worth seeing on there... children of bodom! as for the head liners... yikes! no thanks!
