Petrol Prices have gone completely mad, a massive spike in the last few months, I think we all have short memorys, it wasn't that long ago it was less than £1 a litre
exactly. last year before xmas itw as less the £1 now its 1.20 in 4+months. redicolous. at this rate we could easily reach near £2
I have spent the weekend looking into bio-diesel. ITs 20p cheaper than standard diesel and supposedly better MPG.
Gonna fill up later this week and see how it goes
This site allows you to report petrol prices in your area and see what other people have submitted - Whatgas.com
I been using Free UK fuel prices. 9,683 petrol stations covered - PetrolPrices.com for a bit and it seems pretty good.
Petrol's about 70p/litre here...
i looked at signing up to petrolprices.com but I was uneasy about their privacy policy. you give out a LOT of information to them! And they only show you the cheapest stations, i think it is handy to know which ones to avoid too!
i think Biofuels have a way to go yet, but will be a useful contribution. Yes at present their carbon saving is probably debatable, and they do drive up food prices (although their use only accounts for less than 1% of all grain grown), BUT its developing and improving all the time due to the investment. The next generation Biofuels will be made out of the left over bits of junk from grain farms, paper mills and oil plantations. Not the good bits that we want but all the stuff that usually just gets thrown away.
Been a member at Petrol Prices for quite a while now.
It's good to know where the cheap fuel is but some times the prices in the emails they send aren't always upto date.Especially recently with price hikes on diesel happening nearly every day.
I hate too say it but, electric cars are no solution and i personally feel they shouldn't really be exempt from anything, they still produce emissions just not directly and seeing as the majority of electricity production is from fossil-fuels it's not helping at all.
New solution to power neededdd
