    teeth

so i was surfing last week and snapped my front tooth again.. i've done it a couple of times before so i thought it wouldnt be a biggy, i could just get it topped up again. went to the dentist on fri who said it'd be a bit of a bigger job - maybe involving root canal surgury. went again today and he drilled up into me tooth, and looooots of pussy crap comes out. mmmm. turns out the tooth is dead and septic. so now im going to have to go on antibiotics for a week, look like a right gimp for a while (cant cap it immediatly cos he's gotta wait for the crap to all drain out) and then get it capped, rather than just filled. failing that i might have to have the tooth extracted and a fake put in. im 21, never had a filling and im gonna have to have a false tooth fitted! typical. its also costing me a fortune, im looking at around £200 even on the nhs!

to top it all off, i was meant to be ringing a lass up who i met the other week to arange a date, but since my tooth isnt going to be fixed in a hurry im gonna look like a gimp, so im struck between seeing her, yet looking like a gimp (and maybe put her off), or put off seeing her (which'd piss me off) and risk giving her the wrong impression. DAMNIT!

just give her a call and tell her you had a surfing accident and bust your tooth (or tooff, which ever it sounds like) but you'd still very much like to meet up as arranged. if she's worth her salt then she'll understand but if she's a self-righteous materialistic b*tch and wouldn't be seen dead with a guy who's missing a tooth then I'd say you're better off without...
go for it, you never know until you try, and if you don't you'll be kicking yourself for it

p.s. hope tooth gets fixed without too much probs

I've got a false front tooth.. on a little metal spike. Cost about £80 to have it refitted each time it got knocked out when I was playing rugby... which is why I dont play anymore, me mum refused to pay up each week!

Get the bloody thing pulled, have a spike put in and a week after they'll cap it for you. Job done.

My girlfriend is a dental nurse, she read your post and says that you should not get it pulled if you can help it. she says she would go for the root canal surgury and keep the tooth. in the end will look better and be cheaper than getting dentures or bridges done.

as far as the bird goes, she says "dont be a pussy and tell her you broke it"

i tell u what £200 for dentistry isent bad at all. my hygienist is £40 alone, but she does rest her breasts on the back of my head whilst she does it, so i go as often as i can afford it.

I'm not wanting to fly in the face of obvious expert knowledge here, cos I know naff all about teeth and the like, but they did that with mine and it went all crappy, I had to have the thing drained at least twice and in the end it was less painful and stressful to have a peg stuck into me gum in place of the tooth.

I have to agree though, it doesn't look good as its a different colour to the others... to get it the same I'll have to have to have it removed and a new one made.... more pain... more expense...

perhaps they could invent a synthetic tooth that becomes discoloured the same as normal teeth do when faced with coffee and the like - then it wouldn't be so bad...

p.s. call the damn girl, don't text!!

I shan't post the pic, as it's quite graphic (operation wound).

Maybe thats why I can't meet someone, I've never injured myself while surfing the internet. I have to do something active like Snowboarding to get badly hurt....

ah yes, make sure when stating your injury sustained through surfing make it know you mean the water and board type surfing rather than the internet type...
