    Fabric/Cloth Glue

    Hello everyone

Can anyone recommend some glue I can use to join two pieces of fabric?

I need to apply a patch to a seat where the fabric has worn off.

    Thank you.

    Re: Fabric/Cloth Glue

also found this bit of info if it helps

    "Repairing Upholstered Furniture

Patching a Tear in Fabric or Vinyl:

Insert an iron-on patch through the tear so that the adhesive side contacts the back side of the torn fabric.
Iron one side of the tear until the patch sticks firmly to the back of the cloth on that side.
Adjust the torn spot for smoothness over the other side of the patch.
Iron the second half of the patch, moving the iron toward the tear.
If necessary, you can apply fabric adhesive to the tear for a stronger bond.

Patching a Hole in Fabric or Vinyl:

Locate and remove a piece of excess material from a hidden area of the furniture that is large enough to cover the hole.
Trim the upholstery to match the hole and surrounding pattern.
Apply an iron-on patch or apply adhesive to the back of the damaged area.
Use fabric adhesive or a small iron-on patch to install the material patch in the hole.
Allow the adhesive to fully dry before use.
In both cases, make sure that your iron is set to the correct temperature for the type of fabric that your furniture is upholstered with."

not tried it myself most fabric glue apart from cheap cheap brands are normally ok.
missus normally goes into local fabric shop to get the glue or a local small hardware shop normally stock the glue.just had a look on robert dyas web site they only stock the generic type super glues
so the little corner "ironmongers" normally stock a better variety.
the postage on sew quick is £2.99 hmm twice as much as item costs!!

just a thought if you have a hobby craft centre near you some are located with Haskins garden centers they should do some glue as well
