i wondered why internet explorer crashed while i was looking around hexus..
only complaint is that its a bit hard to see which is the latest 'article' thats been posted. and the layout seems too cluttered, as in a bit too much too look at on the screen, its a bit hard to focus on one piece on information.
(i can't explain better than that, so don't ask me to explain further)
edit: just noticed.. wheres the weekly update list gone? it helped to find what i'd missed. during the week.
I rather like it, it's easier to see at a glance if there's anything worth reading, although it may be difficult to tell which stories i've read and which i haven't, i need to use it more first.
I think as soon as i grasped that the order was row by row from left to right i think it should be ok to see which the latest stories are.
Overall it looks like it should be easier to see a days worth of stories without a lot of scrolling
The latest are tat the top - and the oldest at the bottom - the challenge is with the level of content we are posting we could filll the old homepage too quickly.
The weekly update will happen on Saturdays and will become part of our archive and these will end up being top left on a Saturday - saves you scrolling
Oooh - I Like. Register stylee.
I like the way the banner advert disappears when you mouse over one of the menus which would otherwise obscure it (although I'm not sure why it was necessary)
They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them.
Blame Adobe... sorry Macromedia... Flash the 'god' of all internet applications
I think it will appeal more to regular readers, though it may appear a little too in-your-face and off-putting for new-comers.
..... Just wait in 12 months time you will be amazed how we aim to deliver content... this is only the start...
Umm, i don't really like it...Feels like the Inquirer Blog style which is fine for daily news. Is Hexus not about reviews?
It's just really hard to see what is an review and whats news.
.... we are about both that's the challenge.
How about if we dropped mails about all reviews in your inbox?
What did happen to the Hexus newsletter? Not had one of theose in a while.
I didn't like it so much on an old CRT, was quite crowded, but on a widescreen monitor it looks great.
