I think this is pretty normal tbh. At least I hope it is because it happens to me too. Not just with games either. The other day I'd been watching some of the snooker replays and then went to bed and it was like the game had just carried on in my mind - I could see each player approaching the table and taking a shot and the game just kinda played out as if I was still watching it

I think when you've bombarded your senses with the same imagery for any length of time, its difficult sometimes for your brain to switch off and its only natural that this might also carry on into the dream world as well. I remember when I first started playing TF2, I would go to bed still thinking about the game and then I would dream about sneaking up on people and stabbing them in the back. Needless to say I used to play the spy a lot

Re: Games and closing your eyes.

i'm currently sat in my room reading hexus, thinking about being Nico, stealing cars and beating up random people in the street and crusing liberty city, and i have never even seen a PS3 or XBOX360. i've only watched the tv trailer and a few gameplay snippets of GTA4.

I just have a mad/creepy/homicidal/psychopathic imagination, bits of which are starting to creep into various posts on hexus. don't worry though, none of it has emerged into real life, my repression techniques are working (kind of).
although i have recently snapped a length of 1/2" pine with my bare hands.. RAAAARGHH!

ooh my thoughts have changed now.. into the helms deep assault bit of LOTR, i wonder how my neighbours will react if i storm their houses like i'm currently thinking of doing. wheres my sisters Anduril Flame of the West sword, there it is RAAAAARGH!!!

    see you in a bit..

Riding down a busy A road on a push bike(luckily not old enough to drive) on the wrong side after a particularly hefty session of driver on the PS1. Only took 2 trucks and a bus to figure it out

Driving games should be set in the UK

I used to get that with wipeout and rollcage. When I was playing UT for days on end and being "in the zone" for a lot of that time I used to dream about it, ditto WoW. Infact come to think of it, anything deeply immersive or requiring intense concentration would do it.

Not specifically that, but I played bejeweled 2 sooooo much in the first year at uni; eventually I'd start seeing everything in groups of three that weren't quite lined up. Like coloured drawing pins in a pin board, or 3 red cars in a car park. It goes without saying, I was well impressed with myself.
