Why can't website have suggestion/correction boxes?

Alternative title: Why aren't there any Bitch Boxes?

This is probably me being odd, but it really bugs me when there are typos, grammatical errors, bad formatting, etc on a page and I just wish there was a place on the page where I could make these errors known. This is usually because I think the site deserves, by dint of high quality content, to be free from such mistakes even if the majority of people never notice them.

I guess I'm a bit OCD with this sort of thing, because it usually easily avoidable, but I get the feeling that occasionally the people writing the content actually don't know how to write properly. One of the sites I'm thinking of being guilty of this is written by a non-native (to my knowledge) english speaker, and as such I can understand why they may not get everything word-perfect, however I see no reason why that should prevent the site from being correctly written.

At this point I realise I'm starting to repeat myself, a general no-no when ranting, so I'll wrap up here.

Feel free to note any mistakes I may have made with appropriate sarcasm/irony, though I think there are none.

Thanks for reading my first rant on Hexus,

    Fawlters

    Pot. Kettle. Black.
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

0iD: Plus weeing in it every now & again does it good
scaryjim: 10" is just a little large to hold comfortably in one hand, which makes it a lot harder to tap, swipe and generally interact with.

Most people are pretty good, and as long as the message is clear then the odd typo doesn't matter.

Provided we get no 'text language'

Also if your only posts are correcting people on thier spelling/grammer you'll sound like a pompus ass, this isn't a school after all.

Many websites do have either feedback email addys or forms

Unfortunately some of the people leaving feedback appear to have the IQ of a dead newt..

sorry about that, i have been in 3 car crashes you know!

and i do know you are refering to other people and not me. although some of my recent posts haven't made much sense, either to you or even to me after i've posted and read it again the next day. The vast majority of posts i have made i can't even remember posting them, even the ones i posted 5 minutes ago.

as for fawlters rant on bad grammatical stuff, shouldn't there be 2 spaces after a full stop?

and as for leaving feedback on the articles, do you think that any of the hexus people actually listen to us, or do you think they just laugh about them (see the T.C.A.A.C. vids and theAnimus), I think i have been listened to (may not have but it is coincidence) some examples....

on the tested to destruction i suggested wireless mics and no blurry blokes - now they use wireless mics (most people do, nick is just forgetfull) and we haven't seen any blury people since.

a while ago i did a post in the hexus.suggestions about '3d rotateyness' and how a 3d rotatey image might be nice on psu/case reviews. and what pops up in april, yup thats right a 3d rotatey review of a psu in a video review.

coincidence.. i think not. the hexus people are listening, though not always aknowledging us, they aknowledge me though and I think I have been quoted by all the mods at some point or another, so in my short time here i've made a big impact on this place. not as much as matty-h though, but hey we're not all perfect.

this post doesn't make much sense, but it just feels relevant to this topic, i just wanted to waffle on a bit and make myself feel a bit more important in the scheme of things. i'm a bit depressed at the moment, i need cheering up and if i have to do that myself then i will, right i'm off to leave more relevant feedback on topics...

Re: Why can't website have suggestion/correction boxes?

Ok, time for the figuring what I've gotten myself into with my five-in-the-morning ramble.

@ Mr darkside, I shall point out the 3rd from last line,

To kalniel, I will say I was intending to encompass all webites generally, not merely those available via Hexus, although my thanks for the links,

with Andy, I agree entirely, and to avoid sounding like a pompous ass I tend to remain silent however I had some pent-up anger that needed a release and this seemed like a harmless target. Oh how wrong I was...

To Stoo, and by default anyone else who reads this, I have to admit my miniscule attention span and lack of real botherment (yes that probably is made up, but what the hey, I can get away with it because you know what I mean) in relation to your first point, by which I mean, I can never be bothered to email a site about bad grammar because I feel it is impolite. I have to wonder how you know the second.

Finally, to stevie lee's point about full stops I can only say that I have never used two spaces after them and consider doing so entirely optional. Generally I tend to indent the first line of paragraphs, but in this situation there doesn't seem much point as most "paragraphs" are 2-3 lines long.

I cannot help but think I have more important things to do right now than be doing this, nevertheless my lack of remembereance of what such things are leads me to continue.

    Thats all for now folks,

    Fawlters

Oh, my comment wasn't directed to anyone here!

Sorry about that, lol, it was more an experience thing with a large-ish commercial website I'm in charge of as my day to day job

Re: Why can't website have suggestion/correction boxes?

umm, i don't remember writing some of that post, it makes me sound self centered and egotistical, which i am not, sort of.. at least it serves as a warning to me to get more sleep. i'm just worn out at the moment and doing random posts that i normally wouldn't do, might take a week or so to sort myself out. so bear with me... i know most of you are an understanding bunch... if I dissapear for a few weeks i'm probably off painting warhammer stuff, or my PC has finally destroyed itself.

and fawlters last comment - whats more important than starting random stuff on a forum and getting wierd/semi-useful comments back?
