LOL music artist dont make there profit on the amount of cd's they sell. they get it from concert etc.
IMO only pc games are taking a big hit in torrent downloading.
movies have cinema's that the average joe goes to and watch the film for 6-7 pounds A PERSON.
music as stated above.
console games: your console needs to have a mod chip in it to play pirated games and most people are scared to even try openinging up there console voiding the warranty and the risk of your £200-£300 spent on it going down the drain.
pc software doesnt take that much of a hit from pirated copies because software companies like MS and adobe generate huge amount of profit from corporate businesses who shell out £1000's of there cash to attain licences for just 3-4 pc's in there office. OS costs around £100+, Adobe costs 400-500 and thats just for photoshop.
Which leads to pc gaming: easy to pirate, download and play. no need for modchips inside your system.
There thats my take on this whole torrent thing.
