The winners of war write the history. Terrorists/Dictators always end up on the losing side just because of this fact.

Had the other side won they would be in the same position.

Just look at the way that Battlestar Galatica did the whole situation with terrorism, suicide bombings, the whole thing reversed, but this time it was against "non humans".

It was incredibily compelling TV for the way people reacted to, very well written and sensibily dealt.

couldn't ever get into the new battlestar galatica with their faux swearing.

Even more anoying is the low grade dialogue, about 10% of which is just the swearing substitute, which fails to convay any emotion at a time it should, making me giggle. It really is the gorden brown of dialgoue.

Why? A swear word can be just about any word said forcefully enough and generally conveys a feeling of either anger or hatred. There's some good reasons not to like the new Battlestar Galatica, but faux swearing isn't one of them

yes but always the same word, again and again, as thou they've got the vocabualary of an 8 year old essex chav, who has been dropped on his head a few times, before been given 3 cans of special brew.

Last time i had a stressful argument, the dialogue was much more intresting, at least 8 different swears where used in 15 seconds.

Damn frecking thing, its so frecking bad, that its frecking happening..... again and again and again.... its terrible.

What the frack are you on about

After a while you get used to it, bear with it as it is worth it due to the storylines going on at the moment.

In regards to the original post - I was giggling at this yesterday and my housemate thought it was hilarious as well - Nice find

Re: Different way of thinking about it

I think Farscape did something similiar ("frail" or something). Then of course, there's Red Dwarf with smeg, but that was supposed to be funny. It's easy to do with Sci-Fi and I found I got used to it and subliminally replaced it with the appropriate word. It's just a way for them to get around the censorship and still keep some of the emotion in the dialogue.

Aye, yes Farscape liked it's "Frell", and most sci-fi has generally had something similar.

Ahh, oh but for the good old days, when SG1 was on showtime, and hence could swear like real troopers

Re: Different way of thinking about it

yes but red dwarf used smeg so rarely, in all the 6 series (THERE ARE NO OTHERS, JUST LIKE THERE ARE ONLY 3 STAR WARS) it was probably used less, than in one episode of battlestar galatica.
