    britain's got talent

Can anyone tell me where it's up to? And am I wrong that it's crap?

I seem to have lost track of the show and I might have missed some of the past shows but I recorded this weekends one and I watched it last night and it was proper pants. They all kept going on about the final and there was just about 8 acts or so on stage at the end and then they picked 3 (or 2 - i cant remember)

Is that ALL that's left? Is this it? Or is this just from one city? Or is this like a quarter final and there are going to be 4 more shows like that but with different people or something?

The reason why I'm wondering is because one is a freakin dancing dog, one is a mental old bloke playing bad keyboard, and one is a fat bloke in drag. Please tell me this isn't the final 8?

I actually think none of them are that great. Most of them have SOME talent. Teaching your dog to do that is great, and the dog is talented, and the dancing ones are good too, but this is meant to be the cream of the crop, the best of britains talented people, and it's meant to be a for our ONCE a year big show that is meant to have Vegas A-List quality entertainment, and none of them are anything like that imo.. The only one I really like is the 2 asian lads doing jacko stuff, although even that is a bit stars in their eyes when you consider they don't sing or write any material, they just dance. And the young lad who sang west end stuff seemed to have some talent but he got kicked out by the dancing dog girl.

I'm not that bothered but just kind of interested I liked seeing Paul Potts do well and stuff, so was just keeping an eye on this but it seems like it's all gone west to me.

    Re: britain's got talent

Presumably most of the talented ones were in it last year (or previous years). So unless there's been a whole new crop of talent appeared in the last 12 months we're looking at the dregs

    Re: britain's got talent

Ohhhh I found out about it today, it's not as bad as I thought. Someone told me it's going to be on every night this week and there are loads left. Like about 40 or something, still remaining, and we see them each night this week.

So the crappy bunch I watched were just one small chunk of the 40. I'm relieved. It's still a naff show, but there are at least some talented people there. There are some still left in who are pretty great to watch.

I'm disappointed about that young lad from Middlesex though He isn't amazing or anything but he could be in the west end (I'm assuming) and he is better than a dancing blummin dog, and they got rid of him. That's really bad I think. The show is for people like him.

    Re: britain's got talent

There really is little on UK television that is worth watching. I guess not being at all interested in celebrities, football or what some random nobs are doing in some house full of cameras puts me squarely on the outside of the UK tv target viewer Britain's Got Talent is something they should have left as an American show really.

    Re: britain's got talent

One thing I don't understand is, why on EARTH would people put themselves through it? I was unfortunate enough to watch 10 minutes of these show (it caught my attention kinda like watching a train wreck) and my god, the people on there were AWFUL.

Who would really put themselves through that kind of public humiliation? Do they really think they're talented???

They're showing it on a loop on ITV, ITV2, ITV2+1 either as Britain's Got Talent or Britain's Got More Talent, I think I've seen bits of it 23487245 times so far - no need to record it.

It's complete bilge and if that's the best "talent" we have, no wonder we're crap at everything.

    Re: britain's got talent

All reality type shows should die a slow and horrible death...

Is it just me or since the turn of the century has TV gotten progressively worse? It's like TV in the 90's was soooooo much better and less full of these voting junk shows for gullible women. It's also a view on society today where talentless morons who can't even perform their own songs live half decently, are worshiped for being full of themselves, under weight and drug addicts.... but hey that magazine says they are great so it must be true...
Mariah Carey is so good she refused to go into a hotel because there was no red carpet laid out for her... good on you sister, god she's just so brilliant isn't she? I think I'll buy all her albums and her perfume as well!
(though for once she can actually sing)

Please for the love of god stop being idiots people!

    Re: britain's got talent

    I hate these talent shows...

No one on them has talent... I mean - I KNOW people with better talent than what's on that show!

It's not a talent show, it's a public humiliation show, for those that don't like watching an Orwellian production...

Hence, I suppose, why I don't actually have a TV (although, similar to other poeple, I do actually see a TV every so often.. I know this is hard to believe, but it is true...) Maybe we should write and complain that Britain's got Talent has a lack of talent, and by showing this, they are somewhat letting the national pride down...

    what'ya think?

    Re: britain's got talent

There is plenty of talent though.

Most of what you see so far, is all the crap people. They do that purely because they learned from the likes of Pop Idol, that it's popular. So many people like watching, and laughing at, all the crap people who go to the auditions and make a mess of it.

But then out of that, you always end up with some talented people. This year is no exception really. The contortionist woman is amazing. The young boy who sings like an angel is talented, as is musical singer lad who went out, and the michael jackson guy(s). Etc.
