it was a joke mate I'm at work at the moment though....
I've designed a few logos for various things, did it for coursework and also for a variety of other things including a pals band. Thought that'd be the career I went into, but I went a whole different way. So therefore I'm gviving you an entirely unqualified opinion !
I think the big danger is overcomplicating a logo, just because you can Simple is always best.
1: Ok, but I don't really like outline logos
2: Great, can't really fault it.
3: The fill just seems a bit too much, and won't always work well with different backgrounds
4: Doesn't do it for me, not really clear enough
5: Nice logo, but not for a band. Would look good on a letterhead, not a flyer. More like a logo for a company or bar.
6: Not sure it's clear enough
7: Ok, but not sure it's suitable for a band. Looks like a club logo. I also think it'd date quite quickly, as with anything 'modern' looking.
I think whatever you do, it should be block colour (doesn't necessarily need to stay a particular colour, gotta be interchangeable for different album covers, natch )
Also, I'd have to agree that a small graphic logo would be good. Again, something simple. Doesn't have to be clever, or even anything that someone would automatically associate with the word "rhesus", but if it is linked in some way, so much the better.
I think the plus sign could be a good graphic tool, a similarly gritty one to the way you have your text maybe? Just asked the missus, who's a madwife, if the rhesus symbols are funky in any way, only reply I got was a raised eyebrow. Hmmm.
What about the Rhesus type font ? it's not actually legible in any way, and it would be a fantastically nerdy IT type thing to have on a cover or somewhere. I can already read the "rock band in profanity storm" headlines The Rhesus Font logo is actually pretty cool too, nick that!
Ah, sorry, but it wasn't a typo, that's what I always call her, and it's a common term in their trade One of my posts on AVF http://www.avforums.com/forums/searc...rchid=14691529
Without seeing any replies I voted for 2, it just looks the part.
However what came to my mind was urban decay probably because of the dirty
crumbling effect, I could just imagine seeing it on the cover of a cd with a background
of some grey shot to bits city street or like a scene out of full metal jacket.
Whilst the obvious link for your band's name is the Rhesus factor in blood, let's not forget that it was named after a bunch of monkey's used in testing the theory.
Maybe you can do a monkey with a syringe, or a doctor monkey logo on the side of the lettering?
