    Gaining more muscle!

At the moment i'm down the gym every day for an hour to an hour and half. Can anyone advise on the best supplements to take to increase muscle mass?

Whey protein is the only essential one imo... you can also get small boosts with creatine and certain amino acids. I buy my stuff from myprotein.co.uk (I can PM you a discount code if you want - its referral so i'm not posting it here).

    At the moment its this:

    2000m on a rowing machine
0.5 miles at speed 7.5 on a treadmill

Then on to weights for all muscles. (Would name the machine but can't remember them lol)

Cough splutter... MACHINE !... that's not weights

Plus if you're doing 'weights' every day then hopefully you're rotating what muscles you train otherwise they just aren't getting enough rest to properly recover and grow.

That is true. But with a good diet supplements can help. If you have a bad diet supplements probably won't make much difference...

And being a veggie doesn't effect anything at all as long as you have a good diet. A good veggie diet is better than a bad non-veggie diet.

    Re: Gaining more muscle!

it really does depend on your bodytype, are you Ecto, meso or Endomorph.

Because if your an ecto like me, you will need to eat as much as you can...and if you dont, no supliments are going to help (unless thier meal replacement sups).

    Re: Gaining more muscle!

3 x a week is enough for muscle growth with a good diet, a good multi vit and some protein powder. Stick with free weights and build up the weights gradually. Don't pound the gym everyday as you will probably lose weight instead of gaining muscle.

I try to swap between cardio and weights from day to day. I'm currently in the process of joining the Royal Navy so really need to improve my 1.5 mile run. And i hate running lol 1/2 atm kills me So tomorrow i'll do a slow 1.5 mle run just to try and get my body used to it.

    Re: Gaining more muscle!

Got another fitness question! I can now run 0.5 miles at speed 7/8 on a treadmill in 3.10 But even at that I am a bit out of breath Yesterday i decided to try speed 9 got into a comfortable stride, then at 1.00 i was sic in my mouth (nothing went out but it was a nasty taste) Now i think i must have pushed myself too much.

Now my question is what else can do to improve my run times (need to run 1.5 miles in 12 min 13 sec for the Navy fitness test)

In Speed units what is "speed 7/8"? E.t.c 10 Kmph?
