    Calling tank buffs.

I went to the tank museum in Dorset last week and saw a statue that I really liked. It was of Mark I or a variant of the Mark I coming over a trench with what I thing was Britannia on top of the tank. From what I can remember it was made to commemorate something to do with the RTR and a limited amount were cast, costing 100 Guineas.

I'm trying to find a photo of one and some more information on it but I can't remember the name of the piece. I think it was something like, Triumph from Tragedy, or something along those lines.

Does anyone have any idea as to the correct title? I've been googling it for a while now with no luck, I can't find any more about in on the Tank Museums website.

    Thanks for any help.

What's the Tank Museum like these days? I haven't been since I was about 16, is it still worth a visit?

Had a great day there, it was my first visit and I will definitely be going back again. They are carrying out a big revamp there at the moment which is due to be completed in Dec this year.

Had no reply from the email so far. Anyone out there have any ideas or are visiting the museum soon?

That is just around the corner from me, when it was on last year I went to park outside Tesco in Paddock Wood High Street, you can imagine my shock to find some huge tank parked outside!

    Re: Calling tank buffs.

To be fair tanks aren't my thing, I find most land based military stuff rather dull. Love a good airshow or look round a warship though.

If it was free (and I understand why it can't possibly be) I would probably go and have a look but otherwise I will be spending my pennies in the local.
