    Electric Razor

    Ok decided to buy a electric razor for quick shaves as it takes me too long to shave tbh.

    Amazon got a sale on and decided for recommendations/advice

    so basically ive picked 2. A foil and a rotary.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-Mois...6050249&sr=8-2

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Remington-F5...5HBV4KWVW7XP3A

    which better? any other recommendations.
    I dont want to spend more then £45 tbh.

    Thanks

    Depends on your hair. If it's tough and/or you'll be cutting it when it's grown a bit then get the rotary. If it's not so tough and you'll shave more often but want a closer finish get the foil.

    Though looking at the reviews they don't seem very flattering for the remmington - I would personally look for a braun for foil. Eg:

    I spent nigh on a hundred quid on an electric shaver (one of those poncey Philips gel based ones) a year or so back. It got used grudgingly for about a month then I reverted to wet shaves. The shave was nowhere near as close, my skin got itrritated to hell, I had to shave twice a day and it actually took longer than a wet shave for me, so it's now sitting in it's box again.

    Would seriously reconsider an electric, especially based on your other shaving thread

    Re: Electric Razor

    Ive got some Braun electric job, which I picked up in Boots a while ago, when the range was half price.

    Day to day its fine for removing the majority of stubble, but if im going out anywhere/its a special occasion then nothing beats/gets close to a wet shave, the electric unfortunatly doesnt get close enough.

    Although I do like how much quicker the job can be done with the electric, so for work days, yep it means extra time to hit the snooze button

    I actually use the Philips one you've shortlisted. It's very good, especially for that, I paid double... but.. like others have stated, it's nowhere near as close as a wet. Nor is it really any cheaper. As the Nivea stuff for it is expensive.

    Re: Electric Razor

    I am using a Philips rotary (Coolskin). Works for me, but I've never used a foil based. My skin is very sensitive, and I always used to have some sort of side effects when using normal razors (various Gillette and a Wilkinson Sword).

    I read that, then thought a bit and nope still no words..
    Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
    Enwrought with golden and silver light,
    The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
    Of night and light and the half-light,
    I would spread the cloths under your feet:
    But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
    I have spread my dreams under your feet;
    Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams.

    Are the electric ones better than a "wet" blade shave?

    Define 'better', especially with respect to your skin type.

    Re: Electric Razor

    I always use a electric shaver but my last one a few years old need constant charging a real pain at times. I am looking at the Philips brand myself as I normally use Braun or another well known brand
