Anyone know anything about fixing a fridge ?

Noticed on satuday that my fridge is very very high in temp yet the freezer and the fan below still work? It's currently at +22 tried turning it off for 24 hours but no joy.Just wondering if anyone knows of anything simple that i can fix myself its a hotpoint

Sounds like a thermostat issue.

round the back, 1 compressor or 2

if its 2 its blown a compressor or faulty stat

It's likely to be a problem with either the pump/compressor or the temperature sensor. With a fridge at that temperature, when you switch it on, you should hear the compressor kicking in straight away, which you can hear.

I don't know exactly what to check for or how you can narrow it down, never had to repair or trouble sort a fridge before.

Try hitting it. That normally cures my computer.
