yup... i saw that earlier....
why? what drove him to "not be his usual self"?
AND THEN ALL HE GETS IS 6 MONTHS!!!!!! and a ten year ban from animals!!! WTF
What a ****er.
People is sad but dog's is just not on!
I am not saying this is good, because its not... it evil... but why is this a big deal? Doesn't this sort of thing happen in slaugher houses all over the UK with other animals? Only difference is that they sell the carcass on!
They don't beat and hang them! It's a fairly painless process as far as I have seen.
You can't kick or hang that..

yeah in slaughter houses the animals are stunned and/or killed instantly... not kicked and then hung..........
i.e. not going into much detail.. but sheep have a high voltage past through their brain to disable them, and they are then bled instantly to ensure that they cannot come around and feel pain
where as cows have a harder time as they just get a bolt straight through the brain by a TRAINED and VETTED PROFESSIONAL
one of my friends mums goes around all of the local abatoires and checks that they are up to scratch in the way that they do things... and if they are caught being inhumane then they get closed down and have a sentance imposed upon them (and i'm pretty sure it's more than 6months)

Slitting their throat is worse imo... and they don't even know for sure if its painless or not... Have you seen the state they keep most chickens in? Far more inhuman on a mass scale
SiM, you are more than welcome to that point of view.
The problem in this particular case is that the torture was over a period of days, rather than in one instant. The dog was strung up from the rafters using its chain, and subsequently rescued by the wife. Roll on a couple of days by the intimation of the article, and it was beaten by the husband and then strung up for a second time when it died.
Now that is inhuman. The dog definitely suffered as a result, and not only for a matter of seconds, but for a number of days prior to its death. That would be the difference between that and having its neck slit with a knife, as that is deemed to be relatively painless and at most experienced for under 10 seconds. When the dog was examined, it was shown to have blood in both the lungs and brain, which would only come as the result of a severe beating, which I would assume would be rather painful.
Thats just plain disgusting really, no need in that what so ever.
Fair enough, maybe this was slightly worse... but still usually even when this happens to a kid, there is usually no post here...
Is this humane then?
what really disturbs me, other than the article itself, is the bookmarking options at the bottom of the page
delicious?
wtf?
If this was about a fox or sheep rather than a family pet it wouldnt have even made the papers.
Also, as nasty as it is, there are drivers drinking and mowing people down on the path......they get a fine. That dog isnt as important as a human. (though the courts apparently think otherwise).
Human Suffering > Animal Suffering
But this is still wrong, and I'd like to see this guy hung from the rafters and kicked with steelies. No matter how cruel the act, it's indicative of a type of human that should be treated like an animal.
