    How many Sky+ Boxes?

    Anyone here got Sky+?

I currently have 1 Sky+ box and 2 standard boxes and am paying about £40 + £10+ £10 /month. Does anyone know if it is possible to substitute one of the standard boxes for another Sky+ receiver and how much it would be? The box is about £99 but would i have to pay an additional subscription every month for it?

    Re: How many Sky+ Boxes?

It's been a while since I had Sky, but as far as I'm aware there's no additional monthly charge (other than the £10 for multiroom).

If I remember correctly, what you'll need to make sure of is does your satelite dish have enough outputs? I think a Sky+ box requires two, so if you've two Sky+ boxes and a Sky box, you'll need five outputs.

I think standard dishes have four outputs, so that could be a problem. You can get octo dishes, so you may need one if you don't have one already.

Yeah i think my LNB has 4 outputs which would mean i need 5. Is that an expensive job for the engineer or is it included with the purchase of the £99 box?

    Re: How many Sky+ Boxes?

You could buy an octo LNB and fit it yourself in 2 minutes. There is really absolutely nothing to it.

Also, look around for 2nd-hand sky+ boxes (preferably the Pace model), there are a ton of them kicking around now due to people upgrading to SkyHD.

    Re: How many Sky+ Boxes?

there is sometimes an aditional charge for sky+ multiroom.

talk to sky, and see what deal they can offer you!

Sky offer a deal? I think they only understand ripoff rather than deal!
