Not strictly a fountain but awesome all the same!

Having seen the Bellagio fountain in Vegas first hand, I thought I'd seen water tricks at its best... then I found this:

It works a bit like an inkjet printer... spelling out words, drawing pictures... and the best bit is near the end.

The best bit about Vegas? That dull crump you can hear from pretty much anywhere on the strip as the Bellagio fountains shoot water hundreds of feet up... dunno why, just always liked the sound.

Re: Not strictly a fountain but awesome all the same!

One of the best I've seen was in the foyer of the Crown Towers (Melbourn casino). They had all these water jets dancing to music that were lit up by different coloured lights and a waterfall/cascade along with a laser show and a moving roof iirc. Spent an hour or so watching it.

    Ok, yeah, that is awesome.

First thoughts were "meh" because you couldn't really see what it was doing (being Japanese characters) but then the dolphins, and the chain! wow.

Re: Not strictly a fountain but awesome all the same!

The best thing I saw in Japan was a 'perpetual sculpture' of ball bearings running round a big clock/race thing. And it wasn't in any of the guide books, I just stumbled upon it in a street near Roppongi. According to the plate on it it'd been there for 13 years by the time I found it. And it was utterly amazing, I spent an hour watching it.

So basically, my point is, go to Japan at least once in your life, there's some amazing stuff to see there.
