A friend of mine taught for a year in Tennessee and keeps in close contact with a few friends over there and one of these friends has told her that the spring that feeds the Jack Daniels distillery is drying up.
They reckon its got about 2 more years tops...

There's a couple of news storys that can be found via Google but without doing some serious hunting to observe rainfall in the area over the past few years not a lot can be done to substantiate things.
Of course, this might be a perfect excuse to go and visit the JD Disterllery to check for yourself!

Oh, i am not disputing the overall superiority of the purebred Scottish Malt, I am a great worshipper at the altar of the fiery liquid, but JD does have a special place in my heart. It was my first drink when i turned 18 and still my regular tipple 15 years later, and I have a smidgeon left in the bottle of Silver Select (mmmmmmmm) that i received recently

Haven't tried it; I do like some American Whiskys (see MM above), I just don't see what the big deal is about JD. I'll keep an eye out for the Woodford, ta.
