Exclamation Does anyone else wake up feeling groggy and drowsy?!

For the past few weeks I have been waking up feeling sleep deprived, groggy and drowsy, when I don't take anything before I go to sleep, nor do I drink. The thing which annoys me more is that I wake up before I get my 8 hours of sleep, which I believe is partially the problem (I don't even have anything to do in the mornings).
My body just likes to wake up - and it never used to do that. If I went to bed at 2am, I would wake up at about 11am or 12pm.

With that said, it only takes me 5 mins to "wake up". I don't drink coffee or any other caffeine filled drinks/products. I have 2 glasses of water and cereal, and about 30 mins later I'm ok. (I still feel slightly tired though)

Does anyone else experience this, and/or know any "remedies" as such?

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

your diet could be a problem yeah. but it could also be that your body cannot handle its current situation which is why u feel crap in the morning! change your diet and try and get lots of exercise in the day but dont overdo it!

Re: Does anyone else wake up feeling groggy and drowsy?!

yea I was thinking its my diet too. But I dont stuff my face with junk food. I hardly have chocolate, I dont have more than 1 mug of fizzy drink, I eat fruit, and I drink at least 2/3 pints of water. I do try to jog every other day.
Could it be down to lack of carbs?

I had spaghetti bolognese the other day and I ran for about 4 mins longer than I usually would.

I do have irregular meal times though, but I eat properly.

I was going to say... if you feel better after a meal then it might be because you've got no energy reserves.

Try having something small with slow release energy before bed (banana, flapjack etc)

I am also in this category. But that's because I rarely get 8 hours sleep, abuse caffeine to fuel my insatiable addiction and drink too much on a friday. It's called healthy living.

We might not have a had much of a summer up north, but the nights have been very warm for quite a few week now. Even though I keep my windows open I get too hot at night - and feel groggy, drowsy and thirsty in the morning.

Re: Does anyone else wake up feeling groggy and drowsy?!

I get this. Most days I wake up with a really dry mouth and feeling half dead.
Coffee usually kills this and wakes me up.

A couple of weeks ago I felt really tired. I had about five cups of coffee before work.
Once I got to work I felt dizzy and off balance. Every time I turned my head I felt like I was going to fall over. This lasted all day. Wierd. Like being drunk but without the mental effects.

I do not drink or take drugs either.

'A drug, broadly speaking, is any chemical substance that, when absorbed into the body of a living organism, alters normal bodily function. There is no single, precise definition, as there are different meanings in medicine, government regulations, and colloquial usage.'
