Mainpage layout?

when did the mainpage layout change again?

the new layoutyness leaves loads of empty space :(
where the top row has 3 items and then everyrow under it has just the one...
making the page huge

edit: it's changed back to blocks of 3 all the way down again now :o

Yep - on holiday for a week, and it's all gone to pot...

You guys must have widescreen monitors like the rest of us!

What was wrong with the 3-3-3-...-3 layout? (and yes I remember before that)

Gah, put it back. I had just got used to the old version I dont want all the featured malarky at the top of my screen, Im perfectly capable of working out what I want to read!!

Well the old way can still be used we've just added an additional way to filter it - and cleaned up the menus rather than having the old fashioned drop down bits... ;)

the only thing that is slightly annoying is the share bar that pops down when your just on the same line as it...

well yeah... but on a 24" monitor it's a lot of white space that makes the section pop up.....

& if you had an eepc you would complain that it was all cramped...

It's very very tricky to do a site which works on all platforms all the time perfectly so we need to balance things ;)

at least i don't set adblock on HEXUS ;) (the only site that gets that privilege)

Could we possibly have the content and categories bar on the actual Hexus bar at the top (i.e. sit on the blue-y shaded bar)? Seems like it would save a load of space now that we have an extra row of featured content....

Infact dont worry. I have found a new source for news and will use this site for the forums. I absolutely cant stand reading little boxes that are not in any order, are not alligned and are not sorted by date. It just takes so damn long to read, and my monitor is certainly big enough.
