cold, for the same reason that if i wanted a hot vimto or something i would use the kettle rather than the hot tap - because its a bit manky

im guessing because we wash stuff/ourselves in hot water usually so some misguided fools might think we should do the same for our teeth

Well, I usually just go in to clean my teeth in those little wash basins hanging on the wall with running water (clever idea that is) but frequently end up being buggered senseless.
