Is anyone here from Grimsby? I visited on Friday, and what a lovely haddock and chips I had

In fact, it was so good I went down to the Fish docks and purcahsed some fresh haddock, which I took home in ice, and cooked for my missus and my boy and myself.

And it was superb

Now I know you're not just famous for being a fishing port...so what else are you famous for?

And should I call your town "Great Grimsby" becaue that's what it said on the town sign as I drove in.

Liked it a lot, loads of nice people, everyone I met was uber friendly

Just stop at Grimsby, don't carry on to Cleethorpes, it really isn't worth it.

i'm from near Grimsby.... and it's not all that great... but Cleethorpes is worse and Scunthorpe is even worse
don't got the cleethorpes to see the sea.. it's just not going to happen.....

for a day out it's not too bad.. but to go there often?...

A good mate of mine (Paul) does something managerial on the docks. I haven't been for a long, long, long time but I used to really like Grimsby as it had a good atmosphere and the people were very friendly. My Dad's from Yorkshire and slips straight back into the accent if he spends more than a couple of seconds with people who are from oop narth.

And it's Cleethorpes. to be truthful there is not much difference between grimsby and cleethorpes any way one's got a docks and the other has a beach. both are shi*thole if you live here.

Cleethorpes also has the worst laser quest...

it's so bad they call it laser adventure... because you don't actually shoot the other people

the chish and fips is nice though (one near train station [it's ridiculously expensive though...])

I just had a very depressing 3 weeks working at the Humber Refinery at Immingham and living in a static caraven in Cleethorpes. In March. It rained a lot. And was cold. And misserable.

Did I say it was depressing?

On the plus side, drink was insanely cheep!

too right on the laser quest we go there for how crap it is. just to laugh at it. sometimes the staff join in. on the fish and chips note the seaway which is a little bit further away is an award winning chippe and cost a damn site less. you get fleeced at the one near the train station because it is near the train station.
