Just A Little Rant

This happened about a week ago but its only know that i've calmed down as it throughly annoyed me even though it was only small.

I'd had been bumpy for the last hour of the flight and when we got into sight of Vancouver it was terrible. The landing wasn't my best but due to the current weather conditions I thought it was pretty good. But as everyone was getting of the plane i was stood by the door saying goodbye. One family walked past and all i got was pure abuse.

I tried explaining to him nicely that it wasn't my fault but he just stood there not listening (did sound a bit dumb). The problem was i then tried to say sorry i'll fly better next time to try and just get him off the plane but he started to go on about how i was lying just to get him off the plane. Evantually five mins later he left but with me in a bad mood.

Just why are some people like this. They can't acept that they are wrong. When what was i meant to do?

Oh well. It's over now but i just wanted to express my feeling about this.

I can understand that. It's never nice when people get at you about things in which you are trained to do and they're not.

It's times like that when all I would want to do is say,

"Sorry Sir, next time you feel my flying is inadequate you are more than welcome to step outside.."

Or ask him how to fly in a less bumpy fashion

All you had to do was invite them to sit down again until all the rest of the passengers were off and then launch into an explanation of the way turbulent air passes over a wing (with diagrams), for say.. an hour? then they might have realised that it takes a little more than pointing the aircraft in the correct direction and applying throttle. Idiots.

lol, I gotta laugh. All you 'pilots' do is a push a button and the computers do the rest. Then you just sit there and look out of the windows, read the paper or eat food and try and get tips off the first class passengers... that's if you're not too drunk to talk or even stand.

I know it's all true cos a bloke in the pub told me! And I've seen Airport 77 THREE times!

Unfortunately you get these kind of people, but the way I look at it is that I am not paid to lie to anyone and if they are wrong I will them so, in a firm and polite manner, it may cause added grief, but I take it as a customer would not want me to lie to them about a potential purchase (I'm a salesperson) so why should I do it about anything else?

Anyway don't worry about it too much the good outweighs the bad, it’s easy to have a bad day due to just one thing (or person) but you did the best out of a bad situation.

It's a fact of life unfortunately. If you do a 'customer facing' job then you will inevitably rub up against people who cannot be pleased no matter how much you bend over to help or how much the problem is beyond your control. As someone who hates conflict and who has always taken pride in my work it used to upset me greatly. I guess you're the same if you've been stewing over it for a week!

You've just got to let it go though. Had I been a passenger behind the moaning gits I would have made a point of leaning round them to thank you for doing a good job. I do love turbulence though.

I know it doesn't affect me that much, it just really annyoed me about how arogant some people are (and dumb at times). I think it was more the fact they thought they were right when i was the one that has been trained to fly. Not them.

Oh well. I just wanted to right it down somewhere. Life goes on.
